PROJECT: Barriers to Higher and Professional Education for the Youth of Ethnically Non-dominant Groups in Georgia

Experienced in social and political research, Khatia is working on development, empowerment and inclusion of women/girls and youth from various vulnerable groups.

Khatia is co-founder and co-director of civil society organization ‘Development and Engagement Platform’. The organization focuses on research-based practice, and uses that practice as the basis of capacity building activities to empower and support their target groups. Khatia’s previous experience in research and training, are the main assets that she uses to implement the complex approach to contribute to social justice and equity among the different groups of Georgian society.

Khatia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Master’s degree in Organization Development and Coaching from the faculty of Social and Political sciences in Tbilisi State University.

Fellowship Summary: Advocating for better education for ethnic minority youth in Georgia, by identifying and addressing the issues that cause Azerbaijani and Armenian youth in Samtkhe-Javakheti and Kvemo Kartli regions to drop out/not complete higher education.
