A trained designer with a degree in arts, Olena has been actively working in the field of design and architecture since the 2000s. Her projects won many professional competitions and were published in the international design magazines. She regularly holds lecturers for the professional community of architects and designers of Ukraine and takes part in different professional competitions and events as a jury member. Olena is an author of a course on design and architecture.

Olena has a high level of social activity and very engaged in addressing the problems in her native city, Kyiv. To make changes, she became an assistant to the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on ecology and architecture.

For the past 5 years, she has been studying the influence of the external environment on a person, including from the ecology and urbanism perspective. For her as a professional architect, it is important to study social relations and interaction of community members to solve social problems in real-life settings, and to participate in the preservation of particularly valuable territories in urbanized cities.

Olena’s project is aimed to study the biodiversity of the Horbachykha tract on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Her project includes such activities as studying rare species, creating video and photo content, writing scientific articles to better acquaint residents with the beauty of Gorbachykha and the challenges of climate change, etc.

“I believe that our project is very important, both for the Kyiv community and for our state institutions working in the field of active social interaction within joint social and environmental projects. By conducting a wide information campaign, my team and me want to attract as many supporters of these unique natural places as possible to expand the circle of interested people.” Olena FATIEIEVA
