PROVIDNYK – Interactive Map for People with Mobility Limitations

PROVIDNYK is an interactive map (web-platform) for people with mobility limitations aimed to help them find the best and safest routes in the cities of Ukraine using the crowdsourced data, spot and review accessibility of places, send automatic complaints (requests) to government bodies. PROVIDNYK addresses the problem of the quality of life of Ukrainians with limited mobility by allowing its users add and evaluate the accessibility of infrastructure objects, first in Kyiv and Odesa, and later – throughout Ukraine. It also helps consolidate the efforts of the civil society, state, business and public in building an inclusive society in Ukraine.

Pavlo BOGACHENKO: “The problem covered by the PROVIDNYK worries me as a citizen and member of NGO community, because this is one of those problems that are usually kept silent. Now is the time to speak up.”

PROVIDNYK solution has been launched at the very relevant stage for Ukrainian society due to the ratification of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the Association Agreement between the European Union and Ukraine (creation of a real barrier-free infrastructure for people with mobility limitations – one of priority obligations).  PROVIDNYK aims at contributing into the development of accessible infrastructure. The implementation of the action will also consolidate the efforts of civil society, state, business and public in building an inclusive society in Ukraine.

Within the fellowship project the second stage of the PROVIDNYK implementation will be completed, which include following activities:

  • Expanding PROVIDNYK’s coverage in two more cities of Ukraine;
